First Mourning by Adolphe Bouguereau (classic print)
This masterpiece of Adolphe William Bouguereau was created in 1888. It depicts the mourning of the first couple with the dead body of Abel lying across Adams lap while Eve is overcome with grief. The scene is truly heart wrenching causing the viewer to feel a great sense of compassion for the grieving couple. This work is in the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
