This is a reproduction of Raphael’s 1518 masterpiece “St. Michael and Satan”.  The original is in the Prado Museum in Madrid.  Raphael was a master of the Italian Renaissance having been born in Urbino in 1483.  He was a contemporary of Michelangelo.  He came to Rome in 1508 and became the most sought-after artist of his day.  This painting was produced when he was thirty-five years old and in two years the artist died.
